Unboxing Success is the sixth blog post in my series, Unboxing Women. This series is a gentle invitation for women to break out of the labels that seek to define us, offering new expansiveness on our paths to self-growth and healing. My hope is that you’ll follow along and try out these practices, which will gently challenge you to level up and free yourself from the boxes that cage you.
Redefining Success
You made it to the final blog in the Unboxing Women series.
Take a moment.
Really – pause and take it in.
You carved out space to reflect, question, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have gone unnoticed or boxed in by expectations. That in itself is worth celebrating.
This final blog is about success.
Not the kind you measure in job titles, followers, dress sizes or checklists, but the kind that feels like peace. Alignment. Freedom.
We’ve been taught to chase a version of success that often leaves us depleted or disconnected. But what if success was simply becoming more of who you really are?
As we close this series, I invite you to do one thing:
Celebrate your version of success today.
Maybe that means doing something joyful, unapologetically for you. Maybe it’s starting something you’ve been afraid to start. Or maybe it’s saying no to something that no longer feels right.
You’ve done deep work these past few days. You deserve to honor it.
Unboxing Success
- Redefine success in your own words. Write it down and post it somewhere you’ll see often. Refer to it daily. Read it to yourself, or out loud as often as you need to.
- Reflect on some of the things that have happened in your life that have brought you closer to a more authentic version of your success.
Unboxing Success Journal Prompts
- What version of success am I chasing – mine or someone else’s? (If someone else’s, refer to the first unboxing activity above. Write down your redefined version of success.)
- When have I felt truly successful, and what did that moment teach me?
- How would I like to move forward?
Self-Care Practices After Journaling
Journaling can bring up sensations and emotions, often long-buried. It’s important to give yourself a little space to process, particularly if the practice stirred up some big, difficult feelings.
After journaling, build in time for something that truly soothes you, such as:
- Guided relaxation in a dark, quiet place
- Silent walk in nature (leave your ear buds at home)
- Yoga: any type
- Singing/vocalizing
- Cooking a meal
- Being with an animal
