Over the years, as I’ve journeyed through healthcare management, entrepreneurship, diabetes, caretaking, and health coaching, and the twists and turns of life, I’ve come to realize that some of the most profound moments of connection and growth happen outside the boundaries of our profession.
These moments, the ones that seem “out of scope” at first glance, often hold the deepest meanings.
I call them “out of scope” because when I was visiting with some friends this summer, they told me that they enjoy reading the things that I write beyond my usual health topics. One friend called them “out of scope” in the best way possible. This validated how much I love writing. It’s a part of me that I don’t want to keep hidden away.
In honor of that encouragement and the inspiration it sparked, I’ve decided to create a new section on my website called “Out of Scope.”
This will be a space where I’ll share content that goes beyond the pillars of lifestyle medicine. Whether it’s a reflection inspired by a quiet morning, a photograph that captured a fleeting moment, or a story that has nothing to do with health but everything to do with living fully, I’ll be sharing it here.
“Life Out of Scope” is where I’ll let my thoughts wander, where I’ll explore topics that inspire me, challenge me, or simply bring me joy. It’s where I’ll write as I used to, before everything got so busy and structured – writing just for the love of it, sharing pieces of life that don’t always fit neatly into a category.
And for those of you who have asked – I am indeed writing. I’m currently working on a book – a project close to my heart, where I hope to delve even deeper into the stories and experiences that shape us. But in the meantime, I’ll be pouring some of that same passion and reflection into this new space.
I hope this new chapter will resonate with you and offer a fresh perspective, perhaps even a bit of inspiration for your own life. We all need those moments that remind us there’s more to life than the day-to-day grind, that beauty and meaning can be found in the most unexpected places. This is after all very much at the essence of coaching and what I do.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I can’t wait to share what’s “out of scope” with you.
With love and light,
